[...] I’ve never read it, but the most famous Iron Man comics storyline is Demon In A Bottle, which tackles Stark’s alcoholism. The Marvel Studios movies haven’t adapted this on-screen yet, and it doesn’t sound like they will do any time soon. This makes a nice change from the way Fox approached X-Men 3 and Sony approached Spider-Man 3: rushing to hit the most famous comics storylines and characters as soon as possible, then getting greedy and cramming too many of them into one movie. Having said that, we do get several sequel-setups: Rhodey’s “Next time, baby” line is a little too cheesy for me, the Ten Rings hints are OK, and as for that post-credits epilogue… I can’t remember if it had been spoiled for me in advance of seeing the movie back in 2008, but I remember thinking that although it was a fun tease, it was something that almost certainly would never come to pass. It’s really quite wonderful to think that the thing set up in that cameo not only happened at all, but actually matched my very high expectations! [...]

The buddy I saw Skyfall with said that he was expecting Q's face to be on the bottom of the cup...

Loved the title sequence, the Shanghai fight, M plot and Silva's debut but I can't love the film overall. It takes the series back to its pre-Craig roots too much for me. Ideally shenanigans such as quipping after a leap to safety off the back of a Komodo dragon is just for the anniversary and Logan's solo run will stay with the Bond who'd rather kick you in the face. ;)

Surprised Skyfall gave me the Craig-era Trevelyanesque former agent villain I was hoping for one day. Now I just need one that's on Bond's level in a direct fight.

Wish I would have seen this earlier. Having visited the Giant Screen this weekend and not realising it wasn't Imax anymore. I'd previously seen a couple of films when it was Imax including Tron:Legacy and the Dark Knight, so was really looking forward to the 60-70 minutes of Imax in the Dark Knight Rises.

However, the Giant Screen this weekend showing the Dark Knight Rises just felt wrong, it looked like they had clipped the wide screen sections off so it was just a large square projection, so I actually got a worse experience than going to my regular (and local) wide screen cinema.

Thoroughly disappointed with this, and the lack of clarity and wont be going again. I take on board the comments about needing to make profits, but if no one is going to come for the Imax draw (or once they realise its not Imax like myself) then why will people choose to go and travel distances for this cinema. I've traveled from Nottingham to Birmingham a number of times, and paid the premium for the Imax, but wont be doing again for the Big Screen.
